The Journal of All Power & Plant Chemistry Areas
Since 1999, the PPCHEM® journal has become established as an international scientific and technical journal for users in the entire power generation market. Water treatment and cycle chemistry are not only challenges in power generation but also in all industrial processes where water or steam is used.
The PPCHEM® journal serves all users who are involved in efforts to increase the reliability, availability, economic viability, and the operational and environmental safety of these processes.

Editor's Comment
Dear PPCHEM readers:
This issue of PPCHEM® is the first to be published entirely digitally. Our new website is now live and fully operational, with only a few minor technical refinements remaining.
This milestone is the result of dedicated project work. I would like to express my sincere thanks to our project manager, M. Bee. The new website reflects his commitment, structured approach, and persistence in completing this transition.
We are looking forward to the opportunities that this digital platform will offer us. Although the format has changed, our commitment to providing the international water and steam chemistry community with high-quality, practical content remains unchanged.
We look forward to receiving feedback on the new website and its usability.
Farewell to a valued member of our International Advisory Board:
At the end of 2025, Bernhard Stellwag retired from his position on our International Advisory Board.
Since 2014, he had supported our journal as a highly respected advisor and referee, particularly with regard to contributions dealing with chemistry and materials performance in nuclear power plants. His profound expertise in corrosion science, dose rate reduction, and chemistry optimization in nuclear facilities, built upon decades of industrial experience, greatly enriched the quality and technical rigor of our publication.
His assessments were always precise and balanced, guided by a deep practical understanding. Authors and editors alike benefited from his constructive recommendations and clear scientific judgment.
On behalf of the editorial team, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Stellwag for his long-standing commitment and valuable contributions to the work of the International Advisory Board.
We wish him all the best for this new chapter following his retirement.
I hope you enjoy reading this issue's contributions, which I'm sure you'll find both interesting and enlightening.
Best regards,
Tapio Werder

A Brief History of the PPCHEM® Journal
First published in July 1999 as the PowerPlant Chemistry Journal, PPCHEM has grown over 25 years and more than 1 000 articles into a leading international resource for the power generation community.
After starting in Germany, production moved to Switzerland in 2009, but the journal's mission has remained unchanged. In 2026, PPCHEM transitioned to an exclusively digital format to better serve its global readership.
We are proud of the journal's long-standing reputation and the continued contributions of our loyal authors, readers, and advisory board members who have made this success possible.
